Needless to say that when this model came in, all eyes were on her........you know what I mean:p Anyway, the first thing that went through my mind was the striking resemblance to Amine characters depicted in "Cleopatra DC".

On this piece, I wanted to try something different with the background. Normally, gesso would be applied before painting as a "primer" for the painting. But, I wanted to see how the painting would look with the wood texture as the background, so I primed the wood paneling with Matt Medium. I found that it was harder to discern value because of the mid-toned background. I think I'll keep doing this and see if I can work with it.
