paintings - february 2812

Today's a good day...

Didn't feel down, which is always good.  Trying to keep healthy, which is sometimes hard.

Less than two weeks left before the show opens.  Hanging the pieces next Thursday night, so I've been painting every night.  I think the pieces are almost there, but sometimes, I'm not sure if I'll be happy with the results, but it's trending well.  Had to cut a piece because I'm just not feeling it.  Maybe fate's saying "that piece don't fit", so the framing work didn't work out and was not completed.  Also it was a horizontal format, which didn't fit with the rest because they're all vertical.  Oh well, punt!

The paintings have gotten to the point where they require many hours of undivided attention, so pretty much on a "one painting a night" rotation.

What ever happens, happends because they need to be mounted and ready for hanging next Wednesday night.

This is probably my favorate so far.  I feel like I can play with the color tones a lot more on this one than the other four.  Crappy photo, but it's late and I'm too tired to re-do.  time to see the sandman.

paintings - february 1712

Paintings for the show are progressing to the point where I'm only able to do one or maybe two paintings per session.

Screwed up on cutting one of the birch frames that I'm making, so that just gives me an excuse to cut out one of the paintings I'm working on.

Maybe it's fate, but that one painting, I'm just not feeling good about.  It's a horizontal format, which is different from the others, which are vertical formats.

I'm planning on making some head way on the others this weekend, since it's a holiday weekend, as well as finishing assembling the frames for staining and clear coating.

Post cards for the show came in early from the printer this week, so that was a bit of good news.  I'm guessing business might be a little slow due to the crappy economy:(
